Potential Love Across The Steps: A Halloween Story
A flickering light appeared along with a sense of being. All that Jack could see was a few steps, a front lawn and a street with several passing cars. What is this place? Jack thought. What am I doing here? Just then, a companion of sorts appeared opposite him on the same step. Who’s that? Jack did a lot of thinking because he couldn’t speak, for he had no tongue. He had but two eyes, a triangle shaped nose and some jagged teeth.

I Always Want To Be A Solid Parent
I always want to be a good solid husband and father…well and son and brother, cousin, friend, etcetera. But husband and father are on the top of the list (aside from Christian - Jesus juked myself). However, being a good Christian I think will mean that I will be a good husband and father along with all those other things because then all of your actions would be based on wanting to do what’s best for whoever whenever.

My Experience with The Wim Hof Breathing Technique
I learned about the Wim Hof breathing technique on Sunday December 16, 2018 and decided to try it the next morning. I had only heard of his cold water/weather stuff. Anyway, so Monday morning I held my breath for an amazing 26 seconds or so before trying the method. So this was my current ability. I forgot to check my time after the first round, but I remembered to after the second and third rounds. Those times were 2:58 and 3:18 respectively!!! I cannot believe that I was able to not breathe for that amount of time. This was done with my mouth closed and nose pinched so I know I wasn’t cheating.

5 Minute Journaling Works For Me
I have been writing in my five minute journal every day since September 4 and I believe it has certainly allowed me to be introspective and more grateful for all of the things I have and even the things that seem like annoyances. It allows me to think about how my day went (inside my head). How I could have made it better. And what I’m going to change tomorrow or at least be cognizant of tomorrow if I make the same mistake and over time it will get corrected.

Be Where You Are
I am consciously making efforts to be mentally, where I am physically. For example, on Saturday night our children wanted all of us to play Minecraft. I don’t really care for playing that and really would have preferred reading or watching something. But, I told myself that it was important to them and, of course, I want to do those things that are important to them. I decided to play and told myself to be present in that moment. What happened? I really enjoyed building my very own Minecraft house and I was proud to show it off. My daughter, Elizabeth, even helped me build the bathroom and fireplace.
